Paula Pugh is a dynamic, compassionate woman who has found
her calling in assisting people
to connect with their creative selves by designing gatherings
and occasions to celebrate
themselves or someone else. She
has developed this web site, a book proposal, classes, retreats
and consultations to show
others how to do this important
work. The result is a sense of satisfaction in relating with
others in a positive and
meaningful way.

Paula has more than thirty years experience as facilitator and
educator. She graduated from St. Olaf College and received her
teaching certificate from San Francisco State University. Paula’s
specialty is small group facilitation. She is a trained PeerSpirit
circle facilitator based on Christina Baldwin’s book Calling
the Circle.
After founding Island Strings in 1972
(a business partnership offering music
instruction), Paula taught private and group violin lessons as well as conducting
the local middle and high school orchestras for twenty years.

In 1997 she started Sound
Wisdom Retreats, LLC
which presents classes and retreats where
women learn about living a healthy and balanced life. Her
groups begin by addressing health concerns and move into trust-based dialogue.
Paula’s skillful facilitation weaves health material and personal
experiences into application for daily life. The title of the gatherings
is “For
Women:
Our Bodies, Our Health, Our Wisdom”. She has touched the lives
of hundreds
of women.

Mark the Moment takes Paula’s
experience of offering a meaningful and connected time for
women to share, bond, feel valued and heard, out of the classroom
and
into everyday life. She feels called to find a way for people to construct
for themselves an occasion where they can move beyond the superficial
and show their
own unique creativity, thoughtfulness and appreciation to and for others.

Paula continues to give these classes
and retreats as well as an additional
series
called “Mark the Moment” to start
to promote her expanding material. {See Services &
Resources}
Paula has held retreats throughout the U.S. Her classes have been held in churches,
hospitals, schools and private venues. She and her husband reside on an island
in Puget Sound, Washington. They have two terrific daughters, an awesome son-in-law,
a crazy dog and two horses.
